Yellow 180 is not recommended for use in paint

Today I would like to share with you a pigment yellow 180.

This pigment has high coloring power and cost performance. Many customers ask me whether this pigment can be used in paint. The answer is no.

Let's first take a look at its performance parameters, pigment yellow 180 has strong hiding power, high coloring power, acid and alkali resistance, solvent resistance, and good migration resistance. Its heat resistance, solvent resistance, acid and alkali resistance, weather resistance, light resistance, chemical resistance, climate resistance are very strong, is a very stable organic pigment. Therefore, it is generally used in ink, coatings, paints, plastics, rubber, leather, textiles, cosmetics and other industrial fields.

However, the pigment yellow 180 is not so widely used in coatings. Although the pigment yellow 180 has excellent performance, in the paint, we also need to consider other factors, such as the leveling of the paint, gloss, adhesion and so on. The pigment yellow 180 has a high coloring power, and the product viscosity of the pigment yellow 180 with high solid content will be very large, so that the paint leveling is very poor, and the pigment yellow 180 clearly can not be used in UV paint, because the UV itself is also a strong light radiation, and the pigment yellow 180 is easy to decompose under strong light, resulting in color changes, affecting the appearance and performance of the paint.
