Discussion on warpage rate of organic pigments
2024-10-14
Recently, we have received calls from customers to inquire about the existing scale change phenomenon after some pigments are used in PE plastic drums to cool, which is what we usually call the phenomenon of deformation. When it comes to this problem, we cannot but talk about the warpage rate of organic pigments. At present, the warping index of pigments is mainly tested in HDPE, and the test results are high, medium, low and no warping. According to the pigments we currently know, the vast majority of red pigments belong to high warping, and other pigments such as pigment yellow 180 and pigment orange 64 basically belong to low warping or no warping. Here, a widely used pigment red 254 is especially mentioned, which has been widely used by plastic, ink, paint and ink customers with its excellent performance and high cost performance. Unfortunately, Red 254 is a highly warped pigment, and there will be obvious scale change when used in PE plastic. Based on the high warping characteristics of Red 254, Our company has developed a special process to improve the high warpage of 254 red to low warpage, and the products have been loved by the majority of customers and have been praised by the market, laying a foundation for the broader market application of 254 red.
